Village Discontinuing Non-Emergency Services

Effective starting at 9 a.m. on March 19, 2020, The Village of Silverton will be discontinuing all non-emergency services. This action has been taken to protect the public and Village employees from possible Corona Virus contamination.

No specific date has been set for offices to reopen and non-emergency services to resume. The earliest this could happen is Monday, March 23, 2020, and this will depend on an assessment by the Village Manager to be made on Sunday.

Emergency services are continuing following new protocols set by the Hamilton County Sheriff and Deer Park Silverton Joint Fire District Fire Chief. If you have an emergency and need police or fire services, please dial 9-1-1.

If you do not have an emergency yet still need non-critical police or fire services, please dial 513-825-2280. A dispatcher will assist you with the appropriate help given the circumstances at the time. Silverton Mayor’s Court cases have been continued in progress until at least April.

Trash and recycling services are not changed at this time. Collections should occur on your street’s normal day of the week.

The Village fully anticipates extending the 2019 tax filing deadline, which is currently set by law for Wednesday, April 15th. Taxpayers are encouraged to file their 2019 returns on line at RITA if they are prepared to do so by going to www.ritaohio.com.

The Village encourages all residents to practice social distancing, shelter in place as much as possible, and take all necessary health precautions to limit the spread of the Corona Virus.
